- Creating your Dream Wedding within your budget.
Weddings don't have to be themed, and most are not, but why not? It usually takes no more to
create a theme and if you are having your wedding in a location which lends itself to a theme
then why not?
I created a page for a Hawaiian wedding. The Coral Ridge Yacht Club would work out well

Choose the places where you can save money in order to perhaps spend a little more on
items where it is harder to price shop.
I don't see many really expensive wedding gowns but I see some beautiful dresses more suitable
for our climate. I see dresses of cotton and other soft materials. I hear from the brides who found
their dress online or at a consignment shop. Do you know what? These brides look beautiful just
the same.
More grooms are wearing suits rather than a tux and more and more are wearing white cotton
or linen loose fitting pants and shirts.
Flowers are a place where you can definitely save. Take a look at the flowers many of the
brides are carrying these days. They are very simple and you or a friend can create them with
flowers from the super market or from the flower sellers at the green markets. You can also go to
a florist and buy bulk flowers rather than arrangements.
You can give your bridesmaids beautiful matching hair pieces or custom jewelry to wear. It can
be your gift (as the bride) to them. You can even purchase kits and make them yourselves as
part of your pre-wedding get together. Someone will come to your house to supply the kits and
the help you might need. This makes for a memorable evening spent with your friends.

Dressing For the Occasion:
A large percentage of my weddings are on the beach and even though many brides and grooms
will still choose to dress formally it can be challenging. At the Coral Ridge Yacht Club you can
be as formal as you like. A Brides room is available for your use. How about a Nautical theme?
You could even hark back to the roaring twenties in this venue. Your view will include a row of
yachts as a background. Beautiful.

wedding which is within your budget and will fulfilled your dreams. I believe there is always a
way to work within your budget without giving up on your dreams. It can be done. I see it over
and over again when I provide ceremonies for couples.
About Your Ceremony
When I work with couples in the preparation of their ceremony I encourage them to have input
into the ceremony. Just tell me what your favorite readings are, write your own vows and if there
are children be sure to include them in the big day.

planning a big formal wedding is the location. Just like in real estate it's location, location, location. Here in the Fort Lauderdale area the choices are endless. There are many venues which specialize in weddings, and some of them are very nice. However... Sometimes when I arrive to do a wedding at one of these I feel like I have entered a "wedding factory". I see a bunch of bridesmaids dressed in pink to my left. I see bridesmaids dressed in green to my right and straight ahead, coming right at me is a gaggle of girls all dressed in yellow. They're all lovely but it is a bit overwhelming. Most wedding venues in which I had done ceremonies have one thing in common. They usually have no windows, are usually located in a shopping center and are sort of in the "one size fits all" category. Why not treat yourself and your guests to a beautiful environment, right on the water. Plan your ceremony either inside in a room overlooking the water or outside on the second floor terrace also with a beautiful view of the Intracoastal.
